Coca-Cola Commercial

"Taste the Feeling"

When my teachers explained what this project was going to be, I already had an idea of what I wanted to do. In Atlanta, Georgia, there's this attraction called the World of Coca-Cola and I used to go all the time when I was younger. I knew that I wanted to create a Coca-Cola commercial because I remember always watching them on TV and at the World of Coca-Cola. I just wasn't sure what my plan was going to be because commercials for Coca-Cola are really diverse and different and no two are the same. I had the idea of filming it at the beach because on a really hot day, you want an ice-cold drink to hydrate you. I also knew that I wanted to film it with another person because Coca-Cola commercials always have more than one person in them. Because of COVID-19, I wasn't able to have as many people as I wanted in my commercial, but I made it work. I researched as much as I could about the elements that I needed to include in the commercial first. I did this on October 23rd. Then, I began to plan out my commercial. I decided on what the actors were going to wear, where it was going to take place, the schedule of when I was going to get everything finished, and a backup plan just in case it rained. I also did this on October 23rd. I then drew out what my scenes were going to look like on a storyboard sheet. I did my storyboard on October 27th. I then called up my friend Jonathon to ask him when it would be a good time to film because he's always really busy. We decided that November 1st, which was a Sunday, was a good day to film. Then, I was really worried because earlier in the week the weather predicted that it was going to rain on Sunday, but thankfully it didn't. The filming went really well and we finished in less than an hour. I believe it went without any hiccups because of the storyboard. I already knew what I wanted each scene to look like so it made the process really easy. I've had experience with using iMovie to edit videos so that part was also super simple. I honestly think editing is the most fun part of the whole production of a video, movie, or commercial. I do think that my camera videoing skills need to improve, but more practice will allow me to improve that.
