Filming Blog: The Beach

On Sunday, November 1st, I filmed my entire commercial. I decided to film with my friend Jonathon. I brought beach towels, a tripod, my Canon Rebel T6 camera, and my cellphone. Jonathon picked me up at 11:00 am and we drove to our nearest Target to buy a pack of Coca-Cola bottles. When we arrived at the beach, we took a while to find a good parking spot considering one of the scenes was going to be filmed using the car. Once we found parking, we went onto the beach to film a few scenes. We ended up filming everything out of order, just because it made more sense. We placed a towel down in the sand and I asked Jonathon to sit on the towel while I placed two Coca-Cola bottles behind Jonathon in the sand. I also set up my tripod and camera. This take was showing both our backs and the Coca-Cola bottles right behind us. The next take we filmed was a simple scene that is used in a lot of Coca-Cola commercials which is the side profile of a person taking a sip of a Coca-Cola. The next take we filmed I filmed was Jonathon and I running towards the ocean, and then the same thing but at a different angle closer to the water. The next take was my friend and I splashing water at each other. I had to set up the camera a bit father so that the waves wouldn't knock it down. After this take, we cleaned up all of our stuff and filmed the last two takes. We set up the camera in the sand but not showing the water. We walked from the sidewalk towards the ocean while holding Coca-Cola bottles and walked past the left side of the camera as sort of a transition. The last take we filmed was technically the first part of the commercial. I set up the camera behind Jonathon's car. We walked out of the car and walked towards the left of the camera again. Then, we just gathered all of our props and went back home.
