Filming for my Music Video: Part One

On Monday, November 30th, I filmed the first third of my music video. I had online classes at the beginning of the day, so I began filming at around 4:00 pm. My bedroom was also really messy, which is the place where I needed to film my music video, so I had to clean it. Once my online classes were over, I began to set up all of my props and equipment. I opened up my laptop and pulled up the song so I could sing-along to the lyrics at the correct speed. I set up my tripod on the side of my bed. I then screwed in my ring light to the top of the tripod so I could have good lighting. Finally, I decided to use my cellphone to film this time because it's just a lot faster to get the scene correct. It also helps because I can fix the lighting before I even start recording. I had my scenes all ready to film, but then I came across one problem. I wasn't sure how I wanted to transition from one scene to the next. For example, I didn't want my music video to be very choppy when I edit it. I decided to do this new transition where the camera is at one angle and I look to the side, and the camera basically follows but in a really interesting way. I filmed everything in order because I needed my transitions to work together and make sense. The first scene that I filmed was the "wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy". In this scene, I was sitting on my bed and I just sing to the camera and then look to the side towards my nightstand. The next scene was my still sitting on my bed, but this time the camera was placed to my right. I looked toward the camera and grabbed my sunglasses. While I did that I sang "grab my glasses, I'm out the door, I'm gonna hit this city", stood up, and walked out of the view of the camera towards the right. The final scene that I filmed was the "before I leave, brush my teeth, with a bottle of Jack" scene. I walked into my bathroom and sang the lyrics. I also waved my toothbrush around and then walked back out. I had an easy time filming these first few clips and I will film the rest this week.
