My Pitch
While I brainstormed different ideas for my film, I came up with a lot. My top two choices are as follows. My first pitch is called "No Matter the Distance". The film is a story between two teens, but one is moving to Florida. Before moving, she tells him that she's been in love with him, thinking he wouldn't feel the same way, but he does. The two teens must now tackle all the challenges of a long-distance relationship. My second pitch is called "Bumping Into Love". The film is about a teenage love story. A girl is hanging out with her friend when she accidentally bumps into a guy. She doesn't get his name or his number, but she can't stop thinking about him. She sees him again a few days later, so she takes that as a sign to go talk to him. Both films are really similar because they are both about love. Both are also based on experiences that I have personally had, so I knew they would be really interesting. I ended up going with the film called "No Matter the Distance". I chose it because it's about a topic that is relatable to a lot of people. A lot of people go through and experience long-distance relationships. "Bumping Into Love" seemed too much like a common romantic movie. "No Matter the Distance" seems more original and more exciting. Also, because COVID-19 is still a major issue, "No Matter the Distance" seemed easier to film during these tough times. That's why I chose my first pitch, about teens struggling with a long distance relationship.
